Laura Michelle Prestin is one of the most talked about cover models and internet sensations worldwide in the industry, as she is heavily known for her edgy photos, and memorable body. 

We have seen her in hundreds of magazines all the way from Canada to the U.S to Europe.  Her candid twitter shots keep us awake at work, and her health and fitness blogs keep us motivated to strive for a body of perfection.  

Miss Prestin as she is known, has a tremendous fan base, achieving one of the highest sold calendars in Canada and U.S.  She is also endorsed by one of the biggest supplement companies worldwide, Gaspari Nutrition.This young lady is also a graduate from McMaster University, a fitness trainer, business owner, published columnist and soon to be nurse

What’s not to love about this inspiring human specimen? And so we started the interview with the most important question of them all and one I know all of you are dying to know………

So, I think the first thing most of our fans will want to know is, Where are you going to work as a nurse?

lmao. Funny you say that because we have clinicals right now and are placed at different hospitals. I came into the room one time and my patient freaked out and was like “wtf this a joke..Michelle Prestin ?!”  was funny but probably awkward for him more than anything. After I graduate I’m planning to open up my own clinic in medical aesthetics so I won’t be working in the hospital …but you can come to me for botox lol.

One word to describe yourself?


How did you get into fitness/bodybuilding?

I have always been very active all my life! From soccer, to track, cross country, swimming and gymnastics.  I started working out around the age of 20, when I become  personal trainer 🙂 And loved my results I was getting.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in the fitness field?

Many things are in the works that will be a big accomplishment to me when completed 🙂 But teaming up with Gaspari Nutrition, being a pro bikini competitor, and having such admirable fans!

What keeps you motivated to stay in shape?

Ever since I was young I always wanted to make sure I was the best that I could be.  To be honest, if I am not happy with the way something looks, I work at it.  I can never let myself go.  Staying in shape really helps me stay motivated in everything else I do. I couldn’t even sit in the library and study if I was staring down at my gut or something lol…or I wouldn’t be excited to go out and get ready if I wasn’t fully satisfied with the way I look.  Also being in this industry keeps me motivated to look good. You never want to show up in a bikini or at an appearance or a shoot and they say, hum what happened to her? lol And my fans. It’s a really complementing when they tell you that “you look even better in person” (aww blush**)


What is your eating plan like?

I never measure my foods. I pretty much have an idea how much I should eat.  I’ve adapted to eating every 2-3 hours. I eat lots of fiber, oatmeal, fruits, veggies; lean proteins such as fish and chicken. Lots of greens. I try to fill my whole plate with baby spinach and greens with meat on top. Low fat milk (0-1%).  Eggs (not really into the egg whites) Love bananas, berries, apples. Everything in moderation

What food can’t you go without?

Peanut butter, Mediterranean food, Caribbean food, Vietnamese food

What is the most challenging thing for you when it comes to staying in shape?

When I fall off track working does my eating pattern..and I start to eat bad. And get into the Doritos lol When I’m on a good workout routine, I’m eating well.  So things like traveling, school (exams/tests), and or an injury throw me off at times to stay in ‘top shape’ because I start to not eat right.


Top 3 tips for people who want to get in shape?

  1. Get your ass off the couch! Lmao
  2. It’s not a quick fix over night…you need to change your eating patterns (strive for eating 6 meals a day that are small portions, rather than big portions for only 2-3 times a day)
  3. You need to actually work out!!!! (don’t be mad at me because my ass is perky lol do some squats)
  4. Another tip since my first one was pointless…stay consistent and remember everything in moderation!…this goes for working out and eating (don’t be so extreme and workout 3 times a day and cut out every single carb on the planet; but don’t work out once a week and eat Twinkies and pizza all week then tell me you have tried everything and nothing woks)

What are your workouts like?

Very high intensity…no longer than 45 min…I love circuit training…and super setting. Always changing it up..

My ears……jk ….I’ve been always happy with my legs.

What is a typical daily routine for you?

My life is so sporadic; there really is no typical daily routine day. Some days I wake up and have school, other days I wake up and I am in a different country:P The only thing that really stays the same is that I LOVE breakfast so I also make sure that’s the first thing  I do.  I guess when I am back home I preferably like to start my morning off with something active. I check over 200 emails daily. Play with my social networks. I like studying more during the evening. Or I like also working out in the evening.  Never during the afternoon.  Every day there is something new to work on or different to do.

What is the biggest myth you encounter every day in the fitness industry?

LOL how about what ISN’T the biggest myths in the fitness industry. There is just too many.  It’s really about eating right and getting your ass to the gym. I just wrote a blog about Gluten-free diets. You can read that on or  And all my other blogs for that matter.  I like to speak about all the bullshit that goes on in the fitness industry. In today’s fitness industry, people really need to do their research before they hear about the next big fad and start doing it.

Russian Twists, Bicycles, Hanging Sit ups, Stability ball Pikes, Kickboxing Knee-to-chest-Oblique’s
