We talk to up and coming Fitness Model Sensation Ainsley Rodriguez!

Having been active my entire life, when I first stepped into a gym and felt the adrenaline pump through my veins as my heart-rate rose, I knew I’d found my true passion. I was hooked.

What started off as a hobby, quickly turned into a habit, then a full-blown lifestyle. Through years of working out and adjusting diet and training routines, I have finally been able to chisel out the body I have today.

My job as a Sports Nutritionist and Diet/Training Coach is rewarding due to my honest and genuine concern with all of my client’s progress and making sure I keep track of them each week.

One word to describe yourself?

How did you get into fitness/bodybuilding?

I have always lived an active lifestyle and my joy for movement was definitely discovered at a young age. I was engaged in gymnastics and dance when I was a toddler and my love for dance took hold of me as I continued to participate in the dance teams in both middle and high school. In my sophomore year of high school I was offered the opportunity to leave my current high school and begin attending college in an accelerated studies program.

As always, with success comes sacrifice and this meant leaving dance behind. I willingly pursed my intellectual path and began college at the age of 16 but this didn’t mean I was ready to leave that rush of endorphins that comes with exercise behind! Due to time restraints I began to shift my focus from dance toward the gym and before I knew it…I was hooked! From balancing textbooks on the Stairmaster to super setting workouts, I always managed to find a way to get to the gym.

What has been your biggest accomplishment in the fitness field?

I would have to say that would be inspiring as many people as I do. I never thought I would get to this point or even break into the industry. I was living a dedicated and healthy life for myself and everything else just kind of fell into place. I guess it’s all intertwined as fitness builds a confidence that in turn illuminates everything else in your life. My experiences have shaped me into who I am today but by no means am I done learning or growing!

Famous fitness icon/bodybuilder you would most like to have coffee/protein shake with?

Jaimie Eason is my biggest fitness influence. She is not only beautiful with an amazing physique but she is also a down to earth and real person. I agree with her mindset one-hundred percent. Eating clean and maintaining a healthy body is a lifestyle, not an “on-season”/”off-season” diet.

What is a typical daily routine for you?

Glutamine and breakfast as soon as I wake up! After that I’ll go to work, hit the gym and then come home to try to relax, answer emails and get my meals prepped for the next day. Preparation is the key to success!

What is your eating plan like?

I typically eat about seven meals a day (eating every 2.5-3hrs) consisting of approximately 5oz protein (chicken, fish, egg whites etc) and 4oz complex carbs (boiled red/sweet potato, quinoa, gluten-free oats) at each meal. I do enjoy 2 cheat meals a week but I try to stay away from anything high in sugar because I find it only entices my cravings more.

What food can’t you go without?

Egg whites! I go through eggs like a mad woman…I might as well just buy a few hens to start laying eggs for me! Eating the same thing over and over again can get repetitive and boring so I found that egg white omelets are the best way to switch things up and keep it healthy.

What keeps you motivated to stay in shape?

Many of my followers and fans help me TREMENDOUSLY. The amount of love, support and respect I get from them constantly keeps me motivated. As many times as I may hear that I inspire others, they really don’t realize that they in turn inspire and motivate me too! As far as what drives me….passion. When you have a passion in your life toward a particular goal, you become unstoppable, relentless. When passion takes over, you are able to tap in your reserves of mental and physical energy to drive you toward what you want. That’s pretty much where I’m at now and helping others achieve this same mental state is something I find essential to getting what you want and long for!

What is your workout plan like?

  • Monday: Shoulders and Abs
  • Tuesday: Quads and Calves
  • Wednesday: Off (Rest Day)
  • Thursday: Biceps and Triceps
  • Friday: Shoulders (focus on rear delts) and Abs
  • Saturday: Hams and Glutes
  • Sunday: Chest, Back and Calves

What is the most challenging thing for you when it comes to staying in shape?

Trying to get everyone else to understand WHY I can’t have a slice of that pizza! Haha. I am someone who enjoys clean eating on a regular basis but being around others who don’t is definitely tough! As a fitness model its necessary to always be “photo-shoot ready” because you never know when you’ll get a phone call. It’s difficult to get people to understand the lifestyle and even more difficult to make them understand you don’t WANT that slice without coming off stuck up and rude.

Top 3 tips for people who want to get in shape?

  1. Maintain a positive mind set. So many people spend their time and energy reflecting on what they “haven’t” done or “didn’t accomplish”. If you gear this energy toward thinking about what you WILL do it keeps you upbeat and less likely to fall off track!
  2. Strive for progress…not perfection! Perfection is unattainable and will only lead to future failure.
  3. FOCUS. Make the mind-muscle connection and keep your eyes on your priorities and your training will automatically be taken to the next level.

Body part of a guy you findmost sexy?

A square jaw line 😉

What is the biggest myth you encounter every day in the fitness industry?

Lifting heavy will get you bulky!

Your favorite six pack abs exercises/workout?

I like to do circuit training for abs and incorporate the bosu ball as much as I can for added core work and balance. Hanging leg raises have to be favorite exercise though!
