Hi there;
I have a question about my heartrate (I’M NOT CONCERNED OR WORRIED!!!!!!!!!!!). I’m 40 years old, height: 186cm, weigh about 100kg, heartrate rest = 55-58. No known illness, slight leftshoulder and lower back problems.
Since i’ve stopped smoking about 6 years ago i can NEVER EVER stay in a target heartrate when i’m running or doing cardio (cycling, stair climber, rowning machnies, the lot). When ever i’m running the warming up (slow pace) is at about 145-150 bpm. When i’m speeding things up i’m at 170 bpm in next to no time and i’m cruising for about 50-60 min. without losing my breath or pace (about 5 min/km). The normal calculaters show a max bpm of 180 witch means i’m running maxed out all the time.
On cardiomachines (Technogym cyclemaster/ stairmaster) i’m always getting “heartrate too high” anouncment. When i’m lowering down to the target heartrate i’m not getting any training at all.
Do you have any information on how to handle this, lower my heartrate, or is it a dietry thing(weight problem)???

You could just be fit but I would go and do a ECG and a VO2 Max tets and you will soon find out if it is all ok and what your REAL MHR is becuase the 220 – your age is just a estimate.
