Talent alone won’t make you a success.
Neither will being in the right place at the right time, unless you are ready.
The most important question is: ‘Are you ready?’
Yes — preparation is everything! I remember many years ago just when I started to get back into shape and drop the 100lbs of fat I had hanging off me, how there were many days when I planned on going to an early morning spinning class but then skipped it because I was not prepared. I would set my alarm to wake up 30mins before the class would start, which is enough time to have a quick shower and then drive to the gym which is only 10mins away.
But then I will start searching for my gym bag, or cycling shorts, or my heart rate monitor, and by the time I would find it all I would be too late for the class — and guess what happened. Yep, it was right back to bed.
Now I am sure this happens to many people, and it’s probably made a lot of them stop their new weight loss program because they weren’t organized and prepared on a daily basis.
Believe me, I know how easily this can become routine. You later on might even not get prepared on purpose — because guess what, that might mean I can’t find my gym bag tomorrow and I’ll be able to skip the class again. Yipee, I got out of that one, too! (you might say.)
I know this sounds bad, but it can happen to even the most focused people who have really good intentions of getting back in shape. So what I do these days is to get everything, and I mean everything, 100% ready the night before.
So all I have to do is wake up, pick up my bag and go to the gym. Once you do this type of preparation you will eliminate a big hurdle that can stand between you and your goals. Remember this goes for everything — including food preparation. Especially food preparation!
Let’s face it, the reason so many of us cheat is because we get home tired, have nothing to eat and we just pop out to get a takeaway. Or we did not pack a proper healthy lunch for work and we just have a few of the doughnuts Julie brought in this morning.
This all sounds familiar, right? And the reason it all is happening is because you simply weren’t prepared. You can quickly see how being prepared is really the answer to being successful in life, and even moreso when you are trying to build that sexy new body of yours!
So go on, PREPARE to succeed and you will!

Hi Peter,I’m just 16 years old.So some people says that if you workout at this age it will cause problems in your growth(in terms of height). Is that true?Do you know any workout for increasing total height of your body? Also i’m having egg white as my protein source. So how many egg whites should i take each day?
It can become a problem if you do heavy weights. So at your age just focus on doing body weight training exercises. How much protein you take each day will depend on many things including your current weight, and what your goals are.
Hi Peter,
im currently 16 1/2 years old, im 193cm tall and im currently at about 105-110 Kg with about 17% body fat (im guessing the number viewing other people with about my same bosy type) so i guess hieght isnt a problem anymore xD im going to use your Powerful Beginner Fat Loss Workout for the next 4 months, my diet is kinda normal, cereals for breakfast at 8am, whatever my mom cooks for lunch at 2pm, a small snack at 5pm and dinner at 9pm, sleep at 11pm. my question is, since im planning to go to the gym aswell with some friends, how often should i do the workout? im thinking about going to the gym 5 times a week, or maybe 3 days a week going gym-workout-gym-workout-gym-workout-resting day, what do you think?
Depending on what you going to do at the gym I would suggest you start slow if you just starting out. If you are fit already you can try and do the beginner workout 2 or 3 times per week.
will do it =) thanks peter =D
Hi peter. My brother wants to work out and stuff cause he seen me doing your workout. Hes only 14 and should he be doing this? Im almost 20 years old and been doing this for 2 years. Tell me if its ok for him to do this. Thanks
Hi there. It really depends which workouts? If it is just body weight stuff and some cardio workouts then it should be fine. Stay away from the heave weight training for now.

Question: I hear alot about Creatine, but not on your site. What are your views on Creatine and do you use it personally? Also is it bad for your health?
Thankyou, hugh
Hi Hugh,
We are actually starting a article series about Supplements this coming week. I will make sure the first article is on Creatine and I will give my personal opinion on it as well. So rather than just answer you I will post a article on this and help everyone on the site that wondered about this, is that ok?
Thankyou peter for your help! Looking forward to the article!
Hiya Peter,
Ive been meaning to ask this question for along time:
When i work out on a certain body area i obviously ache the next day which i guess indicates a good work out. I understand that your not supposed to work out more than once on a certain area of your body each week, e.g. arms once a week, legs once a week etc, this is beacase it takes a whole week for muscle repair i think? However, sometimes a week later i work out on the same section, but the following day i dont ache. Is this becuase i havnt worked out on this area hard enough, maybe i need to increase the weight? Or do i need to change excersice to shock my muscles?…. And second question: when is best to take protein powder for exercise? before or after a workout, or both? Thanks, Hugh
Hi Hugh,
Yes you might have not work out hard enought. You won’t need to change your exercises every week ( every 3 to 4 weeks is ok ) but you must add more weight and push harder each time you work out otherwise your muscles wont grow or hurt as you mentioned. As far as Protein powder, BOTH!
hey guys please
i want to ask question
what is the best why protein or serious mass ?
and thank you
There are a lot of different products on the market so to try and provide you with one brand name or products that are the best will be very difficult. The main thing if you want to add some mass is to make sure you get the correct amount of calories and nutrients over a full day. This will include eating real food, taking protein powders and other supplements. So rather than to look for ONE protein powder that will provide all the protein you need, rather just look for a high quality Whey protein Isolate and then make sure that over a full day you get the right amount of calories in the form of protein, carbs and fats in to reach your goal.
hi peter
can I ask you?
i’am just 13 years old and I’am very thin so what can I do to be stronger ?
Do some body weight workouts ( there are many on this site ) and make sure you eat real and good food!
