Before beginning any fitness program, you need to decide what you want out of it. These are my 7 most powerful goal setting techniques — they worked for me, and they can work for you if you stick with them.
- Set Short term goals. Something like “I want to go to the gym 5 times this week.” This will give you a sense of achievement right away.
- Set long term goals. Something like “I want to lose 20 pounds or have a six pack at the end of it all.”
- Write everything down and tell your family and friends.
- Make 100% sure you have the right program to achieve your goals. If don’t know anything about training and weight loss, then get a fitness professional to help you write a program. I see so many people go to the gym day after day without making any real progress, as they are training completely wrong.
- Make sure your goals are realistic. You are not going to lose 10% body fat in 2 weeks. Once again, if you don’t know what is possible, speak to a fitness professional.
- Make sure you set your goals around your current lifestyle. Not everyone can train all day long.
- Once you have set your goals, write the PLAN of action down how you will get there. Plan ahead 2 or 3 weeks ahead so you know what you need to do every day.
If you follow all of these things — and remain as consistent as possible in what is never an easy task — you’ll get that six pack you’ve always wanted.
Peter, i have followed you from the beginning. Thanks for this site. I was also fat like you and now losing weight by the day. Keep up the great work.
peter, can you show me how to gain self discipline? it’s the most important thing right?
If you stick to the Goal setting Techniques, self discipline will take care of itself. IF you have a strong goal you will want to achieve it but if you dont then you will find many excuses. Good luck
Peter,
I know lots of exercieses but not able to stic for a long time. Can i follow ur bbw plan for 7 day/week with 10 min cardio video because i want to lose lots of fat.Give some good exerciese for biceps & triceps for women. Thanks
Well the BBW is a very intense workout program so you can follow that 3 days per week. Then maybe do one of my cardio workouts on the other 3 days and then have a day break, your body needs to rest to be able to grow. I will show you a nice bicep & tricep workout in next weeks video. Good luck
thanks peter
Hey peter, I live in Mexico and I’m 15 years old, I’d really like to get some nice abs so my question is
With which program should I begin?(Is the 10 minute cardio and beginner abs program ok?)
How often should I do these? (is 3 times a week ok?)
I’ll look forward to your answer, and keep up the great website.
Yip that is a great workout to start with and yes try and do it 3 times per week to start wit. Good luck!
Hi Peter,
I am in my teens and was wondering what workout regimen i should start and what diet i should start. Today i got a jar of whey protein and was wondering what kind of diet could go with that.
I would say pop over to my front page and download the beach body workout plan. This will show you a good workout and eating plan to start with. Good luck!
