So what is the secret? Well it is a combination of a healthier ingredient that normal potatoes and then also a healthier cooking method then the normal deep fried way of doing it.
So today I am going to show you how to make Sweet Potato Fries. Now I actually tried to make these few years ago but it never really worked and to be honest, it tasted like rubbish every time. But last weekend I thought, MAN there must be a way to do this right. So I basically cut my potatoes really thin, spiced it with a special mix of ingredients and WOLLA, I hit jackpot!
In fact it tasted so dam good that although I made a double potion so my girlfriend can also try it out, SHE never saw her portion, I just could not stop eating it until every single little one was gone! SORRY BABE! 🙂
So let’s get down to business and as you will see from the ingredients, there is nothing here that is unhealthy and that is normally a pretty good start.
Start by pre-heating the oven to 200 Degrees Celsius ( 400 Fahrenheit, Gas Mark 6 )
Then was the two sweet potatoes
Now peel the skin off each sweet potato as it will burn once we bake it in the oven and mess up the whole process
Once Peeled ( And this seems to be the secret ) use a potato cutter and cut it really thin.
Now mix the Olive Oil and all the spices together. Use around half to 1 teaspoon of each spice.
Place all the sweet potatoes in a bowl and drizzle the olive oil and spice mix over.
Now get your hands in there and really mix it well. Each little piece of sweet potato must be covered in oil and spice mix or not only will it burn in the over but it will also have zero taste.
Now place them in a baking tray and spread them out so that none of them are touching.
Place in oven and bake for 10 minutes
Take it out after 10 minutes and flip all the potatoes over and put it back in for another 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes, take them out and ENJOY!!!!!
