How do I get rid of late night cravings?

This is a good question — and one that can have a big effect on your results. One of the biggest problems with late night food binges is that it can cause rapid weight gain as your body just stores the excess during your sleep, especially if it’s the wrong kind of foods.

So here are 4 ways to combat late night cravings so that you can make sure you don’t sabotage your own fat loss plan.

  1. Make sure you eat enough during the day, starting with a good breakfast. Most people actually have a lot more will power during the day. The problem really starts where people are so busy that they starve themselves until evening time. So make sure you eat every 2 to 3 hours during the day to keep your hunger at bay.
  2. Eat high fiber foods, especially later in the day as it will keep you full.
  3. If you do want to snack or just can’t resist, keep your snacks low in fat and low in carbs (see my video on a perfect snack for weight loss). Something like a protein shake or yogurt could work.
  4. Avoid mindless activities, such as watching TV — they tend to make you want to snack even more!

What kind of things can I do to avoid that?

  3. peter says:

Get a hobby! I am way to busy these days to even worry about having time to sit and watch TV but back in the day I use to build model planes for example, those things took my mind off everything else!

Cottage cheese has a slow release protein in it called casein. It is not the best to eat before or after workouts but for breakfast or dinner it is great. How much you eat will depend on your goals.

I would not eat TOO many nuts if you want to lose fat. Yes most nuts are good for you as they have good fats in them but it is STILL fats! But having 10 to 15 each day shoudl be fine. I eat almonds every signle day.
