Normally around 6 to 8%. So if your body fat is that low and you still can’t see your abas, not even a 4 pack then you need to wokr on building your abs up a bit or you can just get even more ripped.
Ok, and do you know how long will it take before I achieve my ripped body and six pack abs? I really need to know this, my birthday is coming up and I want to be ready for summer, I’m 13 right now by the way and I will be 14 in 1 month.

It is ok as far as being healthy ( 13 or 14 is even better ) but if you want 6 pack abs you need to bring it down to 7 or so.

At 12 you shoudl really just have FUN 🙂 Do things you like doing and be active. Eat healthy and you will be ok. You can bring your body fat down to around 17 or so and you will be just fine. But don’t stress about things to much at your age, JUST BE ACTIVE!

Just continue dropping your fat, eat right and doing the right exercises.
I have 17%, how do I drop that to 12% in 2 weeks without losing weight? I already do around 90 minutes of cardio per day plus 5 hours of workouts (1.5 of weights and 3.5 of abs) per week, I eat healthy and 1g of protein per lb of body weight. Plus, how do I know what % I am losing per week?

Hey I got 7% bodyfat. I’m 5’10, 29 in the waist. I already have a six pack but they are kinda flat compared to other bodybuilders I’ve seen. I don’t do much cardio. Do I need to increase the amount of cardio I do each week? I’m not sure what to do. If anyone has any tips on getting bigger abs it would be very appreciated.
Focus on building your ab muscles so they POP more.

Sure, I went from 32% to around 8% in 6 months. It all depends on how good your workout and diet is and how comitted you are.

What does size have to do with 6 pack abs? Bodybuilders are twice the size of WWE superstars and they have abs as well.

I can see my abs faintly, but i still have some fat on my lower belly. I can see the top 4 really faintly (but more visible on a mirror). My body fat % on the calculator said 3%, so why can’t i have abs?
If you body fat % is 3 you will have abs. So it might be around 13 or so probably.

Do you recommend weighted ab exercises to help create more visable abs (assuming body fat is low enough) over non weighted exercises ie to help them ‘pop’ out more??
Also do you recommend hitting lower abs one day / upper abs next / obliques another day etc or train the entire core in the same session??
To help build your abs weighted exercses are best. As far as doing one area per day or all togther, it does not really matter. Sometimes I split it up and sometimes I don’t.

IF you have a 6 pack why does it matter? This is just an estimate anyway, if you want to get an accurate reading go to a pro and get a bodt fat test done.

12 is good and healthy but if you want to get 6 pack abs you want to get down to 6 or 7%

I know for a fact that my body fat is 7.8 % now. I’m just gonna use this to see if this is accurate 🙂
But as for my abs,i just started seeing outlines. However faint, i am taking my diet and my workout seriously, 3 days a week abs, 2 days something else. So 5 days of workout, 2 days rest and mixing it up so that my muscles don’t adjust to my schedule.
And thanks to you Peter, i discovered a great cardio exercise i can do at home 🙂

It is not that TERRIBLE, but you want to bring it down to around 15.
Hey Peter. I’ve entered the 6 pack challenge a few times just on my own non-commercial. Right now I’m in between 12-16 % body fat from approximate measurements. I feel great, thank you for the workouts.
I was wondering if there was a way I could get some muscle building forearm exercizes. I was thinking Dumbell jacks / Hammer curls. Because even though my shoulders and biceps look nice. I want to improve on my forearms too!
I also merged a few of the 6 Pack Extreme challenges’ Exercises with the Cover model Challenge. Weight training from the 6 pack Extreme Challenge, Matched with the Cardio + ab exercises Has made me very exhausted. I have a cheat meal once a week. Sometimes twice if I slip up :P. But I’m sticking to my diet best I can. More vegetables than breads. And more Potatoes and lean proteins.

I just did my first full day (started on Sunday with the diet, and monday with the workouts of week one. It is totally right on. You are a really big motivator for me. I really think I can succeed at my seemingly impossible long held dream to get a 6pack. Thanks! Want to join the 6pack challenge too. But I started not wanting to wait for the next one. I am taking daily photos, four poses per day, flexed and relaxed, and front and side. After 6 weeks if all goes well I will send you the first and last days photos. When I do the ah exercises, my abs hurt (a lot) after 5 seconds, but after 1-2 seconds rest, they’re fine.

Female will normally start seeing thier abs at around 12% BF or so.

I had a nice stomach about eight months ago. Then I stopped working out and now my abs are gone. At that time I was 13% and this calculator quoted me at 12%. I might have measured incorrectly so I added 2 to my measurements and the calculator changed to 14%. I recomend a double check or have a pro do it in order to find exact percentage. For, I find this calculator to be (in combination with user error) off by any where from 2 – 4 %.

– If i try to watch what i eat and use whey protein 100% in the morning, before workout and after workout (been doing this for weeks), will i be able to define my lower abs and that v-cut (obliques?) more?

everyone should looks at this as a way to see progress over time, it does’nt show actual bodyfat %. you can use it to see if you go up or down, but it’s not very precise. it says I’ve got 6% body fat and im alot more than that, but it’s gone down since the last time I’ve used it, so I can see it going the right way, nothing more
