As a kid growing up in Bay Shore, New York we all lived in a small house. When I was 15 years old I transformed one of the bedrooms in my house into a gym. On My 15th birthday, my sister Francine bought me a weight set. Then one week later around Christmas, I used my Christmas money to buy a bench to go with it. And the rest is history! I still remember playing “ROCKY” music and hearing my mother screaming at me because it was so loud! I still listen to my “Rocky” CD today, and feel right at home playing it nice and loud! I got into Male Fitness Modeling at the age of 18, and continue to have a busy schedule this very day. I not only compete as a male fitness model, I also compete in natural bodybuilding shows all over the country. I also have appeared in many Films, TV shows, commercials, magazines, and catalogs. But what I am most proud of is helping others achieve their goals. Whether its health, male fitness, motivation, nutrition or well being, I love to encourage others to follow their dreams. I’m glad I found mine as a child. Today I’m married to my wonderful wife Tina who is my true love. I reside in NYC where I continue my modeling and television career. I’m also the owner of Tony’s Fitness Studio in Ozone Park, NY. We recently had a conversation with Anthony about how he has achieved all of this and this is what he had to say: |

One word to describe yourself?“Determined” I think sometimes I can be too determined actually. How did you get into fitness/bodybuilding?I was always into looking good. I always dreamt of having this incredible body and I always admired guys that were ripped and had that legendary physique. |
What has been your biggest accomplishment in the fitness field?I have to say when I get emails from people telling me that I changed their lives for the better and how I inspired them to live a happier healthier life. I find that to be my biggest accomplishment. I don’t think an award says anything, it’s the lives you touch that matter the most. The awards are made of wood, plastic or metal, but the lives you touch or worth more than gold. What is your eating plan like?I eat a simple diet that I stick to daily I eat around 2000 calories a day 50% carbohydrates 30% protein and 20% fat. I eat this way all the time even when I’m cutting up for a show. |

What food can’t you go without?I love Peanut Butter! I have no control when it comes to that! What are your workouts like?My workouts consist of weight training 5 days a week and cardio daily. |
What is a typical daily routine for you?I wake up around 7-730 I have breakfast consisting of oats and strawberries, egg whites, coffee, I then get ready for clients. I have a home personal training business in Ozone Park, New York. I train clients in the morning and then again in the evening I train myself in the early afternoon. I also train cardio late afternoon. I also go on auditions as well. What keeps you motivated to stay in shape?I’m very motivated to stay in shape because I don’t see myself any other way. Some guys will compete and get into great shape and then lose it all right after the show. I don’t believe in this as I want to look good all year round. It’s also a great feeling when you can walk around and not feel bloated and out of shape. |

What is the most challenging thing you deal with about consistently staying in top shape?Well there’s so much food everywhere you go! There are hamburgers, pizza, ice cream, cake, cookies and everything else you can think of all around you so it’s hard to only eat what you’re supposed to. That’s the problem with today’s society there’s too much of everything and it’s too easily available. The world needs to understand that we don’t need all of this food. We over eat and we don’t exercise enough causing the world to be way over weight and out of proportion. |
Famous fitness icon/bodybuilder you would most like to have coffee/protein shake with?I would love to meet Jack La Lanne he’s been doing this for years and he has a great attitude about it. You don’t need to go to a fancy gym or buy these phony bologna fitness gadgets out there. All you need is the will to better yourself and that what Jack preaches! I would one day love to follow in his footsteps! |

Top 3 tips for people who want to get six pack abs?1-You have to stay on a lean diet day in and day out for a minimum of 6-12 weeks. You own physical feature you are most proud of?I know people would say my abs but I’m proud of my smile. The reason is when I smile, I smile from my heart. Anyone can have great abs but not everyone has heart. |

What is the biggest fitness (weight loss, work out, diet) myth you encounter in the fitness industry every day?I hate when I hear this is the latest workout trend, or this is what everyone is doing, or this is what this celebrity does. You have to understand that you have to listen to your body. Getting in shape is hard work it’s not rocket science! All it takes is a good diet and exercise plan that you stick to day in and day out and you will see yourself getting better and better every week. |
